Keeping up with demand from parents wanting to learn baby massage is something the Infant Massage Information Service is trying to cope with says founder, Heidi McLoughlin.
"Massaging babies helps with sleeping difficulties, wind, reflux, eczema, strengthens the immune system and enhances the bond between parent and child," she said.
To meet the growing demand from parents wanting to learn effective massage techniques, the service is holding a number of 3-day intensive courses throughout Australia, where members of the public can learn to become qualified Infant Massage Instructors. Following successful completion, students will run massage classes and take private appointments with parents. As the qualification is recognised throughout Australia and overseas, positions at the 3-day courses are highly sought after.
There are no prerequisites for the program and training begins at a basic level, so all are welcome.
